In situations when your site does not have a local copy you can use the FTP Listing option in the properties window:
Once you have specified this option for your selection of the robots.txt directories you will need to follow the following steps:
a) Save your project.
b) Select Actions>Sync Local Directory with Remote FTP.
This selection scans the full remote FTP directory of your website and creates a local copy of the directory structure (with 0k files and directories that act only as indicators of the remote structure) in a directory at the same location where you have saved the project file.
The process of syncing takes some time and you cannot interrupt it without losing the directory structure. A special window informs you on which directories are synced at any time.
Naturally you can use Actions>Sync whenever a change in your remote files requires you to recreate the robots.txt file with the new file structure on your remote server.
After the syncing has been done you can create the robots.txt file by adding Robot Controls in the same way as if the site was residing locally.
